Case Information

22 year old Priti Porter was last seen in Gastonia, North Carolina on April 19, 2009. She hasn’t been seen or heard from since.

Background

Priti graduated from Ashbrook High School in 2007 and worked in manufacturing. She was living with her mother and stepfather on Windy Hill Drive in Gastonia, North Carolina at the time of her disappearance.

Disappearance

At approximately 10:00 pm on April 19, 2009, Priti Porter was last seen at her home in Gastonia, North Carolina. She said goodnight to her mother, Tanya Davis, and hasn’t been seen since. According to Davis, nothing seemed out of the ordinary that night.

When Davis woke up the next morning she found Priti’s bedroom door locked. After knocking and getting no answer she entered the room and found the window screen missing and her daughter gone.

Davis believes Priti climbed out the window to speak with someone and planned to return shortly, since all of her belongings were left behind, including her cell phone, purse, money, and clothing.

Davis initially believed she was with friends, so didn’t report her missing to the Gastonia Police Department until April 27, 2009.

Investigation

Authorities contacted Priti’s ex-boyfriend who she may have went to see on the night she disappeared, however he denies she was with him.

According to Priti’s family, the ex-boyfriend was abusive and wasn’t welcome at their home. Since they wouldn’t have welcomed him inside if he came to the door, they believe he may have came to her window that night and convinced her to leave with him.

Prior to Porter’s disappearance, Priti’s mother testified that she heard her daughter say the boyfriend had pushed her out of her own car before setting it on fire. That incident occurred on March 22, 2009, and the fire was subsequently determined to have been intentionally set.

Police initially thought Priti left on her own, though foul play is now suspected.

Appearance

Black female with black hair and brown eyes. Priti stands 5’3 tall and weighs 140-150 pounds. She wears eyeglasses but did not take them with her.

Porter has a mole in the middle of her forehead, a burn scar on her left hand, and an unknown tattoo on her buttocks. Her ears are pierced once on each side.

Clothing & Accessories:
Priti may have been wearing a black t-shirt with “Put a ring on it,” jeans, grey sneakers, and two 14k gold necklaces, one with the name “Priti” and the other with a heart pendant.
