19 year old T’Montez Hurt was last seen on February 1, 2024, in Kansas City, Missouri. He disappeared after walking away from a Greyhound bus station in the area of 77th Street & Troost Avenue.
Background
T’Montez Hurt was born on December 2, 2004 in St. Louis, Missouri. He later moved to Nashville, Tennessee, and would often come back to St. Louis to visit family. After graduating high school in 2023, T’Montez moved back to the St.Louis area for college.
At the time of his disappearance, T’Montez was taking a semester off from Missouri Western University to save money. He was living in Grain Valley, Missouri, and worked at Price Chopper.
Disappearance
At approximately 3:00 am on February 1, 2024, T’Montez Hurt spoke to his grandmother over a video call.
His grandmother said he didn’t sound like himself, was acting paranoid, and asked for her to pray for him.
According to his grandma he was “talking like a baby,” and seemed to be talking to a man and younger woman offscreen that he was visiting. He mentioned he had been “laced,” which she took to mean he had been drugged.
“He kept saying, ‘Granny, I just feel like somebody gave me something.’ I don’t know if he was drugged, but I know he wasn’t himself and sounded disoriented,” added his grandma.
Scared for his safety, his grandmother called 911 and got them to send police to T’Montez, who was at an apartment in the 3900 block of Baltimore Avenue in Kansas City.
T’Montez was then taken to St. Luke’s Hospital for evaluation and released a few hours later. They found no drugs in his system.
Around 11:50 am, Hurt took a taxi to the Greyhound bus station located in the 1100 block of Troost Avenue, but it was closed.
He left his phone behind in the taxi, and was last seen on surveillance video trying to get back inside the vehicle. When he wasn’t able to get back inside the taxi he started walking south.
He was last seen in the area of 77th Street & Troost Avenue in Kansas, City around 1:30 pm, about eight miles south of the Greyhound station. He hasn’t been seen or heard from since.
A tip was received that Hurt may have been seen near 11th Street and Grand Avenue on March 27, 2024, however that sighting was never confirmed.
Appearance
Black male born on December 2, 2004. T’Montez has black hair, brown eyes, stands 6’1 tall, and weighs 160 pounds. He has a tattoo of a lion on his upper right arm.
Clothing & Accessories:
T’Montez was last seen wearing a royal blue Price Chopper polo shirt, dark green sweatpants, and black high-top Nike sneakers.
