24 year old Alejandro “Tank” Vasquez was last seen in Kyle, South Dakota on October 29, 2015. He disappeared after walking out of his brother’s trailer near American Horse Creek.
Alejandro “Tank” Vasquez was born on May 6, 1991. At the time of his disappearance he was staying at his brother’s place, located on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, located five miles west of Kyle.
Vasquez is enrolled with the Oglala Sioux Tribe.
When asked about the nickname Tank, his father said “I think he got his nickname from one of his brothers. He was built like a tank, and he’d drink like a tank, too. But, he was a person who was full of life, a gentle man with a good heart. He cared a lot for his family.”
Alejandro Vasquez was last seen in Kyle, South Dakota on October 29, 2015 at approximately 3:00 am. He disappeared after walking out of his brother’s trailer, located on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation near American Horse Creek.
His brother says he didn’t say where he was going on the night of the 29th, but a few people report seeing him knocking on his brother’s door on Halloween morning. His brother didn’t open up.
Alejandro’s father was on his way back from Mexico when he heard that he was missing. At first he didn’t think much of it, but after returning home he started hearing rumors about his son being murdered and buried on the Reservation.
After returning home his father reported him missing to the Oglala Sioux Tribe Department of Public Safety.
Alejandro did not have a cell phone or debit card at the time of his disappearance.
Air and land searches with ATVs, cadaver dogs, and a plane were conducted in the area where Alejandro disappeared, but no evidence as to his whereabouts were found.
Alejandro’s family has continued searching for him over the years, but say authorities have stopped responding to them. They have been critical of BIA investigators who they say have not followed up on obvious leads.
Despite trying to remain hopeful, his father believes his son might no longer be alive and that foul play may have been involved.
The location of Alejandro Vasquez, as well as the circumstances surrounding his disappearance, remains unknown.
The Oglala Sioux Tribe is offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to his location. Alejandro’s case remains unsolved.
Native American/Hispanic male born on May 6, 1991. Alejandro has black hair, brown eyes, stands 5’7 and weighs 200 pounds. He had shoulder length hair at the time of his disappearance.

Alejandro was last seen wearing a grey or black shirt, black or plaid shorts with blue stripes, and white Nike sneakers with a black stripe.
