Disappearance
On April 17th, 2023, Marathon County Deputies responded to a call about an Apple iPhone that was found at the dead end of Ringle Avenue in Ringle, Wisconsin. The phone was found to belong to Tara Jane Sullivan.
On April 18, 2023, authorities went to Sullivan’s residence in Weston, Wisconsin to return her lost cellphone, but Tara was nowhere to be found.
Her garage door had substantial damage, which appeared to be caused by a vehicle backing through the door while exiting the garage.
Authorities say the scattered locations of her possessions add complexity to her disappearance, but have not released further details.
Upon discovering the suspicious circumstances at Tara’s home, an attempt to locate alert was broadcast to neighboring law enforcement agencies.
Investigation
On the afternoon of April 18, 2023, Tara’s vehicle, a white 2017 Buick Enclave, was found abandoned on the side of the road near Highway 29 in Shawano County, approximately 30 miles east of her residence.
The vehicle showed no signs of struggle, and the keys to the vehicle were left in the cup holder. Tara disappeared without her cell phone, and purse which had her identification, credit cards and cash inside.
Multiple ground searches have been conducted in the area where Tara’s car was found abandoned, with help from K9 units and drones, but no additional clues as to her whereabouts have been found.
Tara has ties to the Fox Valley area, though there’s been no evidence that she traveled there.

Tara Sullivan’s disappearance was deemed suspicious due to the damage discovered at her home. Authorities are unsure if she was experiencing a mental health crisis, was abducted, or left under her own will.
