A suspect has been charged in connection with Joynell Brandon’s disappearance back in May.
31 year old Tony Thompson Jr has has been charged with murder in the first degree and abuse of a corpse. He is currently being held on a $1M bond.
43 year old Joynell was last seen getting into a white box truck with Tony Thomson Jr on Universal Avenue in Pine Bluff, Arkansas on May 13, 2025. Her body has not been found.
Law enforcement found a 9mm shell casing under the passenger seat, and the state crime lab confirmed that Brandon’s blood was found inside the truck.

The Disappearance of Joynell Brandon
Around 9:00 pm on May 13, 2025, Joynell Brandon was dropped off to play cards at a family friend’s house.
The friend told Joynell’s family that she was picked up my a male in a white box truck on Universal Avenue around 10:00 pm.
At 1:56 am Joynell texted her family to please open the door, but when they opened the door she was nowhere to be found. She hasn’t been heard from since.
Joynell has a mental health condition that requires medication which she does not have with her. Her family says it’s uncharacteristic of her to be out of contact with loved ones.
