Disappearance
On April 4, 2010, Seth Uptain was last seen attending church at Salt & Light in Casper, Wyoming. He left during the service to get coffee, and hasn’t been seen since.
Seth left his wallet and personal belongings behind.
His mother told police that he seemed off that day and had been struggling with money issues. He also spoke about traveling to Denver or Oregon for work.
Seth was known to be in Wheatland, Wyoming after leaving Casper, though his current whereabouts are unknown.
Investigation
A former college roommate of Uptain’s recalls having lunch with Seth in Greenville, South Carolina in 2010. According to the roommate, Seth called from a borrowed cellphone and said he was staying with a friend.
He says Seth showed up riding a mountain bike, and says Uptain claimed to have ridden a bike from Wyoming to South Carolina. Seth reportedly told the friend that he’d come to Greenville because he was a big fan of pastor Mark Minnick at the Mount Calvary Baptist Church.
They made plans to meet up again, but the pair never spoke again.
It’s unclear if police were ever able to corroborate this story.
Appearance
White male with blonde hair and hazel eyes. Seth stands 6’0 tall and weighs 180-230 pounds. He wears eyeglasses, but might not have them with him. Seth has a habit of wiping his eyes, which makes them red and swollen.
Seth is missing the tips of his middle and ring fingers on his left hand due to a landscaping accident.
Clothing & Accessories:
Seth was last seen wearing a light colored button down shirt, a sweater vest, brown dress pants, a black wool overcoat, and brown dress shoes.
