Case Information

40 year old Scott Dusa was last seen in Monroe, Michigan on June 29, 2005. He was last seen between 2:00-4:00 pm in the 5900 block of Elmwood Boulevard.

Background

At the time of his disappearance, Scott Dusa and his wife were going through a divorce. He was staying at her residence, located in South Monroe Townsite, and sleeping on the couch.

Disappearance

Scott Dusa was last seen in the 5900 block of Elmwood Boulevard in Monroe, Michigan between 2:00-4:00 pm on June 29, 2005.

At 4:00 pm, his wife came home from work and found their son home alone. The son, who was 8 years old at the time, said his father went for a bike ride.

Scott left his wallet and keys behind at home. His bike, described a red Mongoose with a black pouch on front, remains missing.

His wife says it’s highly unusual, since in the nine years they were married she never knew him to go on a bike ride.

Investigation

Authorities believe Scott may have left on his own accord.

“My gut feeling was he chose to leave and not want to be found,” Deputy Buchko told the Monroe News. “We’ve never heard one peep from him again.”

The police report states that Scott’s wife said he had mentioned leaving, possibly for California, due to marriage and money problems.

About a month after he disappeared a man called to say he heard Scott was living in a trailer in the woods of northern Michigan, however that was never verified.

According to NamUs, Dusa has a felony warrant entered in NCIC for passing a forged check, which was entered on September 6, 2005.

Appearance

White male bon on April 15, 1965. Scott has brown hair, hazel eyes, stands 5’9, and weighs 190 pounds. He has the word “Snowman” tattooed on his left bicep, and has previously fractured his leg.

Clothing & Accessories:
Scott was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, dark pajama boxer shorts, and brown sandals.
