60 year old Samuel Riser was last seen in Glasgow, West Virginia on December 7, 2010. He was last known to be at his residence in the 300 block of 1/2 3rd Avenue.
Background
At the time of his disappearance, Samuel had custody of his 17 year old daughter and lived in Glasgow, West Virginia. His daughter was away at military school when he went missing.
Disappearance
Sometime after 5:00 pm on December 7, 2010, Samuel Riser was last seen at his residence, located at 325 1/2 3rd Avenue in Glasgow, West Virginia.
After not showing up to his coal mining job for several days, his landlord went to check on him and discovered he was missing.
On December 11, 2010, he was reported missing to the Kenawha County Sheriff’s Department.
Investigation
Family and neighbors told authorities it is out of character for Samuel to be out of contact for so long.
Police found no evidence of forced entry in Samuel’s home, and his television and lights had been left on.
There were signs of an altercation inside, including traces of blood, however nothing appeared to be missing aside from Riser himself. Riser’s car was found sitting outside.
Foul play is suspected in Samuel’s disappearance. Authorities have three persons of interest in Samuel’s case, however they have not been publicly named.
Police do not believe Riser was involved in any illegal activity, and believe the crime was personal in nature.
“Right now, we have exhausted all of the leads we’ve received on Mr. Riser’s case. We currently have some individuals of interest, we are still looking at them. We do not know or have not heard where Mr. Riser’s body could be,” Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office Chief of Detectives Lt. Sean Snuffer told Eyewitness News.
Appearance
White male with partially grey hair and blue eyes. Samuel stands 6’0-6’2 tall and weighs 200-210 pounds.
Clothing & Accessories:
Samuel was possibly last seen wearing a blue jean jacket with a grey hoodie, metal rimmed glasses, and white tennis shoes with blue and orange on them.
