Disappearance
On October 17, 2022, Rio Boyd left her home on Field Road around 6:00 pm to walk to a friend’s home in Spanaway, Washington. She was last seen walking south on Highway 7 at Field Road.
Rio never made it to her friend’s house and has never been heard from again.
Her family filed a missing person’s report with the Pierce County Police Department when Rio Boyd did not return.
Investigation
Rio left her identification, wallet and keys behind at home. She disappeared with her brand new cell phone that she had just received four hours prior to leaving.
Her cellphone was later found on the side of the road by a man walking his dog near Field Road and Mountain Highway, about a block away from her residence in Spanaway, Washington.
Authorities are seeking the public’s assistance to obtain surveillance footage from the area where Rio Boyd went missing. They’re looking for footage taken between 4:00 pm on October 17th to 4:00 pm on October 19th.

Foul play is strongly suspected in Rio Boyd’s disappearance. The case is currently ongoing and active.
