On August 28, 2026, the remains of Marco Sandoval were recovered from the Columbia River. Marco had been missing since 2021, and was found submerged along with his vehicle.
The recovery was done with volunteers from Adventures With Purpose, the Irrigon Fire Department, local law enforcement, and local towing partners.
“On behalf of the Morrow County Sheriff’s Office, I extend our profound condolences to the family, relatives, and friends of Marco Antonio Sandoval during this difficult situation,” said Morrow County Sheriff John A Bowles in a written statement.
The Disappearance of Marco Sandoval
Marco was last seen in Irrigon, Oregon on January 15, 2021. He disappeared after getting into a fight with his girlfriend.
Marco was last known to be driving a dark blue 2015 Dodge Dart with Oregon plate 9X-8129. He hasn’t been seen or heard from since.
When he failed to show up for work his family knew something was wrong.
Marco had just been given full custody of his ten year old son, and loved ones say his number one priority was taking care of him.
