Case Information
74 year old Peter Jackson was last seen in Yosemite National Park on September 18, 2016. He disappeared during a camping trip in the park.
Disappearance
On September 18, 2016, Peter Jackson was last known to be camping and hiking in Yosemite National Park. It is believed he went missing after going on a day hike from the White Wolf campground.
After failing to return home, Peter was reported missing by his son on September 26, 2016.
Investigation
Peter’s vehicle was found at the White Wolf campground, site #58. According to the campground reservation, he was supposed to depart from the park on September 21, 2016.
According to other campers, they hadn’t seen anyone at site #58 for four days. Ground and air searches of the area turned up no further clues as to his whereabouts.
In 2019, Peter’s Day Pack was found between Aspen Valley and Smith Peak.
Appearance
White male with grey hair and blue eyes. Peter stands 5’10-6’0 tall and weighs 150-160 pounds. He had a trimmed grey beard and short hair at the time of his disappearance.
Peter was last known to be carrying a blue Outdoor products Traverse 8.0 Day Pack.
