60 year old Paul Colucci was last seen in Baxter State Park, Maine on September 8, 2021. He disappeared after heading out on the Russell Pond Trail.
Disappearance
At 9:45am on September 8, 2021, Paul Colucci made a two night reservation for the Russell Pond Campground at the Togue Pond gate in Baxter State Park.
Paul then traveled to park his vehicle at the Roaring Brook Campground and spoke with the campground ranger.
He was last seen between 10:30-11:00 am, when he headed out to the trail leading to Russell Pond. He hasn’t been seen or heard from since.
His vehicle, a light green 2015 Toyota Prius, was left at the Roaring Brook parking lot. It had been backed in, the key fob was inside, and was unlocked.
Investigation
The Russell Pond Trail runs north from Roaring Brook Campground on the east side of Katahdin to Russell Pond Campground. It’s one of the most remote sections of the park and is not accessible by road.
Searches of the area were conducted with the help of park rangers, game wardens, and volunteers, but no further clues as to his whereabouts have been found.
Appearance
White male with partially gray hair and blue eyes. Paul stands 5’10 tall and weighs 150-160 pounds.
Clothing & Accessories:
Paul was last seen wearing a tan belt, dark colored small pull on hat, a backpack, tan shorts, red long sleeve shirt, and greenish/gray hiking sneakers. He was carrying a .22 rifle.
