37 year old Melissa Beson was last seen in Lac du Flambeau, Wisconsin on March 17, 2025. She was last observed walking along Indian Village Road toward Highway 47.
Investigators now know that Beson accepted a ride from three local individuals in a van shortly after being seen walking along Indian Village Road.
After Beson accepted the ride, the van stopped at a boat landing on Kinoniki Lake, where she exited and began walking south along County Highway D.
One of the men from the van followed her on foot, trying to encourage her to return to the van. He witnessed another vehicle pull over near Beson, and assuming it was law enforcement he fled into the woods since he had an outstanding warrant.
When he came back out of the woods he assumed she had been picked up by deputies.
The driver of the vehicle who approached Beson was later identified and interviewed by police. That individual states Beson seemed agitated and declined a ride. That driver continued on his way, northbound on Coutny D, while Beson continued south.
Authorities are now concentrating their search efforts along County D, south of the Kiboniki Lake boat landing.
