Gregory Groom has been indicted by a Bristol County grand jury for the murder of his pregnant girlfriend, 18 year old Kylee Monteiro.
He will be arraigned on Tuesday in Fall River Superior Court and remains in custody without bail.
Monteiro, a recent Attleborough High School graduate, was last seen at Groom’s house in Rehoboth, Massachusetts on or around August 7, 2025. Her remains were found on his property on August 19, 2025.
Prosecutors say 22 year old Groom admitted to pushing Kylee, causing her to fall and hit her head on August 6. He also admitted to knocking her phone out of her hand.
That same day Kylee sent a message to her sister saying, “He threw me on the ground, and pulled my hair and strangled me. My phones at 4 percent if I die, it was Greg.”
When police told Groom they were going to be searching his property he admitted to stabbing her and digging a hole in the woods to hide her body. Kylee was 11 weeks pregnant at the time.
