Updated May 15, 2025; Posted May 15, 2025

Tiffany Slaton found safe

27 year old Tiffany Slaton, who was last seen camping near Huntington Lake in California on April 24, 2025, has been found safe.

Slaton was found near Lake Edison earlier today, and has been taken to a hospital for treatment and observation. Officials say she was dehydrated, but otherwise in good condition.

The Disappearance of Tiffany Slaton

Tiffany Slaton is originally from Jeffersonville, Georgia. She is a national archery medalist and nature lover who often traveled alone.

Slaton worked as a traveling dialysis technician out of Oregon, and when her contract finished she decided to travel the West Coast to check off some bucket list items, including traveling to all 50 states.

California was one of the states she hadn’t visited, so she headed to the Sierra area to camp, with one of her destinations being the Mono Hot Springs. In one of the last conversations she had with her father, she told him she planned to enroll in medical school upon her return.

On April 20, 2025, Tiffany Slaton last spoke with her family on the phone while camping alone in the Huntington Lake area. Slaton was visiting from Georgia, and had been camping throughout the Sierra for a few weeks.

Tiffany was traveling with a green and gray tent, an electric bicycle, and a red bicycle trailer.

On April 21, 2025, Tiffany missed a conference call with one of her students, at which point her parents became worried.

Later that evening her family reported her missing to the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office after she failed to respond to their texts. They say she often traveled alone, but would always stay in close contact with them.

Investigation

Disappearance of Tiffany Slaton CA

According to the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office, the last official sighting of Tiffany was on April 24, 2025 in the Shaver Lake area, when she was spotted with her electric bicycle and stroller.

Her tent was spotted at the Tamarack Sno-Park campsite a little further up the road, and deputies believe she still has the tent with her.

Search and rescue canvassed the area with helicopters, horses, and snowmobiles, narrowing down the search area from the lower half of Shaver up toward Huntington, a location that has limited cell coverage.

Authorities are asking anyone with information on Tiffany to come forward, no matter how small the tip is.
