The Disappearance of Glenn Brown
On May 7, 2025, Glenn Brown was seen leaving Pennfield High School and walking into the wooded area behind the building.
On May 11, 2025, he was captured by Ring doorbell footage walking along M-66 near M-78 in Pennfield. A trail cam also captured him walking in a nearby wooded area.
Glenn has outdoor experience and is intentionally trying to avoid being found. He has a history of running away and had some minor trouble at school, although he’s usually found within hours or days.
Glenn’s school released the following statement;
It is with deep concern and a heavy heart that I address our community today regarding one of our students, Glenn Brown, a valued member of our school family” said Super Intendent Stephani Lemmer. “Glenn was reported missing on May 7th, and since then, our district has been working closely with local law enforcement and Glen’s family to support all efforts to locate him and ensure his safe return. We are fully cooperating with the investigation and have mobilized all necessary resources to assist in any way we can. Our thoughts are with Glenn’s loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. We recognize the worry and uncertainty this situation has caused, not just for Glen’s family, but for our entire school community. Counseling and support services are available for any student or staff member who may need them
Investigation
Glenn has not made contact with friends or family, and does not have a cell phone with him.
Extensive searches of the area behind the school were conducted with the help of drones, but authorities found no further clues as to his whereabouts.
Officials are asking landowners in the area to continue checking their property and camera footage carefully. If you see him call 911 rather than approaching, as he may continue to run.
Evidence suggests he may be using campers and sheds to hide out in, and may be avoiding traveling by roads during daytime to avoid detection.
“While Glenn is known to be resourceful in the outdoors, the length of time he has been missing is pushing the limits of what anyone could realistically endure on their own,” the sheriff’s office said on May 14, after extensive searching.
On may 15, 2025, the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office announced that there had been a confirmed sighting of Glenn on a train headed to Chicago. Glenn was on the train alone, and a witness saw him arrive in Chicago.
“While search operations in Calhoun County have concluded, our office remains committed to assisting partner agencies and following up on any credible information that may aid in locating Glenn,” CCSO said in a release.
