“Alisa is in good health and safe with Colorado officials,” the South Jordan Police Department wrote early Monday. Alisa’s parents are currently coordinating with authorities to bring her home.
The Disappearance of Alisa Petrov
On April 21, 2025, Alisa Petrov walked away from her American Fork school in South Jordan, Utah. She was dropped off at school that morning by her mother, who says she entered the building but never made it to class.
After walking away from school, Alisa went to a local gas station to purchase some items before boarding a southbound train at the UTA FrontRunner station, located at at 6786 West 7750 North.
After exiting the train at the Provo FrontRunner station at 690 South University Avenue, Alisa reportedly asked multiple people for help getting to Las Vegas, Nevada. This is her last known location.
Investigation
Police believe Alisa was attempting to meet individual(s) she met online through social media and chat applications.
Alisa had a phone and iPad with her, and officials have been trying to determine if location data is turned on for those devices.
Alisa’s parents have set up a site to help find their daughter, and are offering a $20,000 reward.
On May 10, 2025, authorities identified a Texas man who could be linked to Alisa’s disappearance, though they have not found any concrete evidence that she was in the Texas City area.
Officials confirmed that the person they identified was an adult male, but have not specified whether or not they believe he is the man who last saw her.
