31-year-old Michael Gray was last seen in Peabody, Massachusetts on December 10, 2022. He disappeared after getting locked out of his vehicle.
At the time of his disappearance, Michael Gray was living with his wife, Jules Gray, in York, Maine. He worked in Peabody, Massachusetts where he was originally from and his family still lives.
On December 10, 2022, Michael Gray was last seen by a Peabody police officer when he called the police for assistance getting into his locked car at Spring Pond near Peabody, Massachusetts.
After failing to get into his vehicle, officers gave Gray a ride to a family member’s workplace on Main Street in Peabody, Massachusetts around 9:00 pm.
Michael Gray never made it back home and hasn’t been heard from since.
On December 11, 2022, his family filed a missing person’s report with the Peabody Police Department when they couldn’t contact him.
According to his wife, Michael Gray was given a ride by a police officer friend, who was on duty at the time, to his sister’s workplace on Main Street in Peabody.
Gray borrowed her vehicle, a 2015 Black Ford Escape SUV with the Massachusetts license plate number of 7AF586, and was supposed to stay at his mother’s house that evening but he never showed up.
Gray’s own vehicle, a Toyota RAV4, was found abandoned at Spring Pond in Peabody with a broken window, which he had presumably smashed himself to retrieve his keys.
On December 15, 2022, his wallet and driver’s license were found along a path at Spring Pond in Peabody by a couple who claimed their dog found the wallet during a walk.
On January 4, 2023, authorities conducted a search with dive teams in the water off Juniper Beach in Salem, Massachusetts, after some clothing believed to belong to Michael Gray was found near the beach.
According to his friends, Gray had previously talked about plans to go camping at Franconia Notch State Park in the White Mountain National Forest or at the Crystal Lake area in New Hampshire.
Michael’s Body Discovered on Beach
On January 26, 2023, a woman walking her dog found a body on a beach at the end of Edgemere Road on Salem Harbor.
On January 28, 2023, the body was identified as belonging to Michael Gray.
No additional details have been released, but authorities say the case remains under investigation by the Peabody and Salem Police Departments, as well as troopers from the Essex County District Attorney’s Office State Police Detective Unit.
