45 year old Melissa Howard was last seen in the 1600 block of Magnolia Street in Slidell, Louisiana on March 29, 2023.
Her vehicle, a black 2015 Chevrolet Silverado with Louisiana plate #C755490, was captured by an automatic license plate reader on April 1, 2023, going westbound on Jefferson Highway at South Clearview in Jefferson Parish.
The vehicle was later found abandoned and towed away from I-55.
Investigation
Melissa’s boyfriend, who is the last known person to have seen her, says she left on her own.
She was officially reported missing on April 17, 2023, after her boyfriend contacted Melissa’s mother to tell her he hadn’t seen her in weeks.
Melissa’s personal belongings, including her purse, bank card, drivers license, and cell phone were found at her boyfriend’s house.

The location of Melissa Howard, as well as the circumstances surrounding her disappearance, remains unknown.
Appearance
White female born on September 26, 1977. Melissa has brown/dark blonde hair, hazel eyes, stands 5’4 tall and weighs 180 – 220 pounds.
She has a tattoo of a star above ‘Fleur-de-Lis’ on her upper right arm.
It is unknown what she was wearing when she disappeared.

Did Melissa and her boyfriend live together , was the home ever searched , given that her official and personal belongings were at ” Their ” home ? .
Why did it take so long to report her missing ( 19 ) nineteen days ? .
How long after she went missing was the car towed away and on whose authority , was the area ever searched ? .
How would the boyfriend know that she went on her own ? .

Melissa and Earl did live together. He waited 19 days to report her missing and did not attempt to contact any of her family. I am her cousin. Her vehicle was found maybe a couple days after she was reported missing. The area it was found is swamp. She was not an only child and disappearing was not something Melissa would do especially with none of her belongings. Melissa is a daughter, sister, mother and grandmother. She is missed and loved and we her family want to find her.

Must start off by saying who are you Tammy because in 2 years at me and Melissa were together I never seen your face in our house I never heard her on the phone with you so listen don’t act like you are the big concerned family member hey Melissa didn’t fool with none of her family as far as contacting her mother you right I didn’t because ask her how long it’s been before this they talked about 8 months so Melissa and her mother did not have the best relationship no matter what anyone says that’s putting it very nicely and just so you know Melissa’s things were not found at my house it was her things at our house and this is not the first second or third time she has left just like that unannounced and been gone for 14 to 18 days and then I’ll get a call from the hospital so I don’t know what your normal is but you don’t know what her normal was so the best thing is to quit speculating what you do not know nothing about hey I don’t even know who you are like I said Melissa. Don’t worry Earl you will get busted. Just because my cousin and I grew up and moved to different places does not mean we never kept in contact. I am her first cousin. Also she and her mother did keep in contact and her cousin John. Why did you just report her missing and not contact John or her mother to see if they heard from her? As for who I am I am Danny’s little sister. I know you know who Danny is because he talked to you asking you about what you did to Melissa. You speak lies about us not having contact with her and why wouldn’t you. She came home early from work Earl and shortly after you reported her missing you moved in Crystal. Also just got busted with twenty guns, crystal meth, syboxin and more drugs and paraphernalia. Also your wife allegedly committed suicide.
