Case Information

63 year old Mark Gasso was last seen in his Southbury, Connecticut home on April 16, 2021. He was reported missing after failing to show up for work on April 19.

Disappearance

Mark Gasso was last seen at his home on Berkshire Road in Southbury, Connecticut on April 16, 2021. After Mark failed to show up for work, a co-worker went to his home to check on him on April 19.

The-coworker found Mark’s truck in the driveway, and entered the residence through an unlocked door. He found Mark’s shower running, his TV on, and his cellphone and wallet inside the home, but Mark was nowhere to be found.

The co-worker reported him missing to the Southbury Police Department. A silver alert was issued for Gasso at 8:00 pm on April 19.

Investigation

According to the co-worker, whose been friends with Mark since they were teens, the pair exchanged text messages on April 16. However, Mark did not respond to a text sent on April 18.

On April 16, 2021, Mark called 911, claiming a woman was inside his residence. When officers responded they only found him there. They said Mark appeared to be oriented, but he admitted that he takes both Xanax and muscle relaxers and that he had been drinking.

According to the co-worker, Mark didn’t get around very well due to previous injuries, but says he was not known to abuse opioids or other medications.

While investigating his house on the 19th, investigators found a small, dried red stain on his mattress, but no other obvious signs of a struggle inside the home.

A k-9 unit was brought in to search the area around his home, and investigators searched lake Zoar, but no additional clues as to his whereabouts were found.

Police interviewed a woman who was known to hang out with Mark, who says she went out to dinner with him on April 15. When he didn’t answer her call two days later she went to his house to check on him, but he wasn’t home.

On April 27, 2021, police announced that Mark’s home was considered a crime scene, however they have not indicated any specific leads in their case.

So the police decide his house is a crime scene 9 days after he went missing. Imagine!!
How many people were in the house in those 9 days?

What line of work was Mark in , did the co – worker work in the same department ? .
Did the friend find anything missing from his truck , had the truck been used a lot ? .
Does he live in an isolated area , if the T V was on and the shower was running , was it still hot , did the neighbors not notice anything suspicious ? .
Did Mark and his friend not make a loose arrangement to go with other co – workers for a get – to – gether after work ? .
