D’Angelo James Hunt, who has been charged with second degree murder in the death of his brother, Isaac Hunt, is now facing nine additional federal charges related to the death of his girlfriend, Jemini Posey.
Hunt has been charged with voluntary manslaughter in Jemini’s death, which occurred on January 5, 2024, as well as eight additional assault charges.

U.S. Attorney Nick Chase says the grand jury returned an indictment charges Hunt with nine additional counts that include three counts of assault resulting in substantial bodily injury to a spouse, intimate partner, or dating partner; two counts of assault of a spouse, intimate partner, or dating partner by strangulation; assault resulting in serious bodily injury; voluntary manslaughter; second degree murder within Indian country; tampering with evidence; and use of fire to commit a felony. Some of the counts contained in the indictment are related to disappearance of D’Angelo Hunt’s girlfriend, Jemini Posey.
21-year-old Posey was last seen in Fort Totten, North Dakota in early January 2024. Hunt was questioned early on in the investigation, though he wasn’t taken into custody until his brother’s remains were found last month.
Isaac Hunt was reported missing by the family on March 15, 2024, and prosecutors allege D’Angelo killed his brother on March 3, 2024, “with malice aforethought.”
It is believed the pair got into a fight with a knife at their father’s home in early March 2024. Bloodstains were found on a TV stand, subfloor, and ductwork. Results of DNA testing shows the blood came from both Isaac and D’Angelo.

All charges fall under federal jurisdiction and are being investigated by the FBI, Bureau of Indian Affairs, North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation, and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.
