Investigation

Jennifer’s cousin, Carla Sullivan, says she drove Jennifer to meet up with her on and off again boyfriend, Jacob McCord, sometime in July 2023.

“She and her boyfriend at the time had had a spat or whatever, so she came to stay with me for a few days. Then I guess they made up, and she asked me to go take her to meet him and I did. She got in a vehicle with him, the same vehicle was located in Alabama a few days later —abandoned,” Sullivan told News Channel 5.

At the end of July, Jacob McCord reached out to Jennifer’s family, stating he had been in Alabama with Jennifer when she stole his phone, wallet, and car.

On July 24, 2023, the SUV Jennifer was last seen driving was found abandoned hundreds of miles away from Nashville, near the 8000 block of Lee Road 179 in Lee County, Alabama. The passenger side window was broken, and the mirror on the driver’s side was missing.

Witnesses later reported seeing McCord camping alone near Mill Creek, washing his clothes in creek water. No one recalled seeing Jennifer or a vehicle with him at the time.

Jacob McCord is considered a person of interest in Jennifer’s case.

In April 2024, McCord was arrested on unrelated charges, after being found in a stolen truck trying to run away from police in Nashville. According to authorities he has been uncooperative in Jennifer’s case.
