21-year-old Jemini Posey was last seen in Fort Totten, North Dakota on January 7, 2024. She disappeared after leaving her apartment, telling her boyfriend that she was going to meet a friend and would be back later.
Background
Jemini Madeline Posey was born on October 11, 2002. She is a member of the Spirit Lake tribe. She grew up with her family in Devil’s Lake, North Dakota, within the Spirit Lake Dakota Reservation.
In 2024, Jemini was a resident of Fort Totten, North Dakota, where she lived in an apartment with her boyfriend and their 7 month old baby.
Disappearance
On January 3, 2024, Jemini Posey brought her belongings to her mother’s home in Devils Lake, North Dakota, saying she was moving back there, but ended up returning to Fort Totten shortly after.
On January 7, 2024, Jemini was last seen by her boyfriend leaving their apartment in Fort Totten, North Dakota.
Jemini never returned home and hasn’t been heard from since.
On January 10, 2024, Jemini’s sister got a message from Jemini’s boyfriends grandmother, saying that no one had seen her since the 7th.
On January 11, 2024, her mother filed a missing person’s report with the Fort Totten Police Department.
Investigation
Jemini’s boyfriend told police that she left home on January 7, saying a friend was picking her up and that she would be back later. He was playing video games at the time, and didn’t get up to see who picked her up.
On January 26, 2024, authorities stated that Jemini Posey may have been in the Grand Forks area on January 5th and 8th.
Several searches have been done with the help of K9s, but no clues as to her whereabouts have been found.
Jemini’s family says she would never disappear on her own without calling someone.
Boyfriend Charged With Manslaughter
In December 2025, D’Angelo Hunt was indicted by federal grand jury in the death of Jemini Posey. He has been charged with voluntary manslaughter, as well as eight additional assault charges.
D’Angelo is also facing second degree murder charges in the death of his brother, Isaac Hunt, who was last seen in March 2024. The arrest of D’Angelo was made after Isaac’s remains were found in November, not far from their father’s property on Spirit Lake Reservation.
U.S. Attorney Nick Chase says the grand jury returned an indictment charges Hunt with nine additional counts that include three counts of assault resulting in substantial bodily injury to a spouse, intimate partner, or dating partner; two counts of assault of a spouse, intimate partner, or dating partner by strangulation; assault resulting in serious bodily injury; voluntary manslaughter; second degree murder within Indian country; tampering with evidence; and use of fire to commit a felony. Some of the counts contained in the indictment are related to disappearance of D’Angelo Hunt’s girlfriend, Jemini Posey.

Physical Description:
Native American/White female born on October 11, 2002. Jemini has blonde hair, hazel eyes, stands 4’7 – 4’8 tall, and weighs 120 – 125 pounds.
Distinctive Physical Features:
Jemini has an infinity sign tattoo on her right ankle and “I-XIII-MMXX” on her right collar bone. She has a scar on her forehead.
She has eyeglasses but was not wearing them at the time of her disappearance.
Clothing and accessories:
Jemini was last seen wearing a yellow Nike sweater.
