Grady Benson, who goes by the name Bruce, graduated from high school in 1971. He soon met his future wife, Maxine Benson, while she was working at a local truck stop. The pair married in 1973 and have one son together.
At the time of his disappearance, Benson was living with his wife in a house on East 1970 Road in Randlett, Oklahoma. He worked as a farmer with his son on his property.

On November 9, 2022, Benson shared a pie for breakfast with his wife that they had bought the day before.
That evening, Benson had dinner with his wife and some friends at Bill’s Fish House, a fish restaurant in Waurika, Oklahoma. The couple later parted ways when his wife left for a planned girl’s trip to Branson, Missouri.
Benson returned home alone around 8:00 pm and brought dinner out to his son who was working in the fields on their property.
While his son was fixing a flat tire on his plow, Benson reportedly said that he was not feeling well and might not come out to work the fields the next day. The pair exchanged a few more words before his son headed back to work.
Grady Bruce Benson hasn’t been seen or heard from since.
At 11:15 pm Benson’s wife sent him a text message to say good night, but received no answer. Since Bruce wasn’t a big texter she wasn’t immediately worried, until he stopped answering her calls.
When Grady failed to show up to the fields the next day his son didn’t think much of it since he’d said he wasn’t feeling well and might not come to work.
Benson’s wife called their son to ask him to check on his father since he hadn’t been answering her calls. When their son told her Benson wasn’t at home she returned home from her trip early.
On November 11, 2022, Benson’s son filed a missing person’s report with the Cotton County Sheriff’s Office when his family couldn’t contact him.
On November 12, 2022, a silver alert for Grady Benson was issued by authorities.
Grady’s cellphone, wallet, car keys, and red jacket were found inside his pickup truck, which was found unlocked in the carport. The doors to his house and garage were found locked, and all of his vehicles were left on the property.
Benson left behind a new pair of boots next to his favorite chair inside his house, with a pair of socks laid on top of them. The pie he had bought with his wife was left untouched in the fridge.
His wife doesn’t believe he ever made it back inside the house after he left dinner with their son on November 9, since none of the food they had bought had been touched.
Authorities have searched nearby areas with drones, canine teams, and helicopters, but no signs as to Benson’s whereabouts have been found.

Wayne Van der Schaaff says
Given that he disappeared that night after going out with friends for dinner ,and that his wife was going away thereafter , was he aware of her plans , and did she pack accordingly ? .
How often does he still use the truck – stop? , did one of the truckers on route , not see something , are there cameras at the truck – stop
Did he mention the fact whether he was feeling at the restaurant , or not ,was he not already planning to leave ? . Did somebody , out side of their party not overhear something out of the ordinary/ done that was
out of the ordinary ? . Leaving the type of personal belongings in his pick -up truck , did he not leavethat behind in order to be found if he had second thoughts , or was he attacked ? . Did he suffer from loss of memory ? .
Sure does sound like he decided to vacate his life for a new one except for his age. This case makes me think one of two things; he decided to leave for a while or a past grudge caught up with him. Attackers don’t normally take senior citizens with them and leave everything else behind unless it’s over a grudge.
