18 year old Frankie Horsley was last seen in Fayetteville, North Carolina on March 10, 1983. She disappeared after heading out to the pharmacy to get medicine for her baby.
At the time of her disappearance Frankie had an 18 month old son and was separated from the boy’s father.
Frankie’s own mother died in a car accident when she was young, and she was raised by her aunt and uncle.
On March 10, 1983, Frankie Horsley left to go to the pharmacy to pick up medicine for her 18 month old son who had a fever.
Frankie never made it back home and hasn’t been heard from since.
She was reported missing to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office by her family on March 14, 1983.
A week after she disappeared, Frankie’s vehicle was found locked and abandoned on Interstate 20 West near the 44 mile marker in South Carolina, headed toward Georgia. Some of her clothing was found inside, but the keys were missing.
Authorities say they have interviewed a person of interest in Frankie’s disappearance, but will not elaborate because the case is considered an active homicide investigation.
After Frankie’s disappearance her son was adopted by his great aunt and great uncle, the same ones who raised Frankie after her own mother died.
The location of Frankie Horsley, as well as the circumstances surrounding her disappearance, remains unknown.
Police say she disappeared under “highly suspicious circumstances” and are investigating her case as a homicide.
