Case Information
19-year-old Elizabeth Prescott was last seen in Callaway, Florida on April 30, 2004. She disappeared from her home while planning a celebration for her husband’s birthday.
Background
Elizabeth Iris Prescott was born on October 5, 1984, to parents Vincent and Donna Pagliaccetti. She graduated from Rutherford High School in Springfield, Florida.
In 2003, Elizabeth was briefly engaged to a man named Eric Moore before the engagement ended in December. In 2004, just two months before she disappeared, she married 23-year-old Coy Prescott.
At the time of her disappearance, Elizabeth and Coy were living in the 500 block of Tyndall Parkway in the Abalone Apartment complex in Callaway, Florida.
Disappearance
On 30 April 2004, Elizabeth Prescott was last seen around 5:20 am in Callaway, Florida, by her husband, Coy Prescott, when he left home for work in the morning.
Around 2:30 pm, Coy called home to inform Elizabeth that he had left work and was approximately an hour away from home. He left a message on the answering machine when the call went unanswered.
Coy’s birthday was the next day and Elizabeth had requested that he call an hour before his workday ended so she could put the finishing touches on a celebration dinner.
Around 3:30 pm Coy returned home, but Elizabeth was nowhere to be seen. He found the apartment to be empty and a wet towel was hanging in the bathroom.
Elizabeth Prescott hasn’t been seen or heard from since.
On 31 April 2004, Coy Prescott filed a missing person’s report with the Bay County Sheriff’s Office when he couldn’t contact his wife.
Investigation
Authorities believe that Elizabeth vanished sometime between 6:00 am and 4:00 pm. She left behind all of her personal belongings, except for $50 in cash that was missing. There were no signs of forced entry in the home.
Elizabeth had a history of running away, but she always contacted family. She didn’t have access to a vehicle at the time and normally walked to get around.
Her bank account and Social Security number have had no activity since she disappeared. She did not have a cell phone or any credit cards.
Authorities questioned Coy Prescott and Eric Moore in Elizabeth’s disappearance. Both were cooperative with the investigation, and both passed a polygraph test. Moore allegedly told police that he and Elizabeth continued to see each other after their engagement ended.
Elizabeth’s family believes her husband or longtime boyfriend may have been involved in her disappearance. Neither has been ruled out as a suspect, though there is no evidence linking either to a crime.
Police later received a tip that Ivan Ferrer-Perdomo, a career criminal who served time in Florida for murder, had bragged to fellow inmates about killing Elizabeth Prescott after she showed up at his home looking for drugs.
Ivan Ferrer-Perdomo refused to cooperate with the investigation, but no evidence was ever found to link him to Elizabeth.
Whereabouts
Foul play is suspected in Elizabeth Prescott’s disappearance. Her case is currently classified as missing and remains unsolved.
