Disappearance
At 5:00 am on March 9, 2017, Delicia Waddy left a cryptic social media post on her Facebook account that said “It’s never too late to do the right thing. Don’t get discouraged. Speaking to myself also.”
At 9:30 a.m, Waddy was captured on surveillance camera at the Newbridge Village Apartments on Newbridge Road in Richmond, Virginia before leaving in her SUV.
Delicia was seen later that day at Camp Wilderness near Kings Dominion, an amusement park on Kings Dominion Boulevard in Doswell, Virginia.
Around 11:30 am, Waddy went to negotiate a lodging rate at the cabin lodging area, but left abruptly without securing a room after being unable to agree on a price with the employees.
She was last seen walking away on Route 30 east toward Caroline County. Delicia hasn’t been seen or heard from since.
On the morning of March 10, 2017, Delicia’s vehicle, a silver Ford Explorer SUV, was found abandoned in nearby Hanover, Virginia. The tank was full of gas and the vehicle appeared to be in working order.
Investigators found some of her personal belongings behind Meadow Event Park, including her shoes, clothes, purse, wallet, driver’s license, and cell phone
Investigation
Authorities conducted an extensive search for Delicia in the area, but it was later called off when two witnesses reported seeing her in a field off Route 30 in Caroline County, Virginia.
Search dogs also tracked her scent to a home in the area, but no further clues as to her whereabouts were found.
On March 12, 2017, Waddy was reportedly seen by an acquaintance, who didn’t realize she was missing at the time, on Fendall Avenue in Richmond, Virginia, about twenty five miles away from Doswell.
Waddy hasn’t had any contact with friends or family since she disappeared. Her phone record, bank account, and social media have had no activity since she went missing.
Whereabouts
Police found no evidence for foul play in Delicia Waddy’s disappearance. The circumstances of Delicia’s disappearance remain unclear and her case is currently classified as missing. Her case remains unsolved.
Appearance
Physical Description:
Black/African American female born on November 17, 1992. Delicia has black hair, brown eyes, stands 5’1 tall, and weighs 145 pounds.
Distinctive Physical Features:
Delicia has multiple tattoos including hearts on both sides of her collarbone, leopard spots on one arm, “Brian” on her breast, an anchor on the other breast, words across her abdomen, “Metria” on her wrist, and additional tattoos on her lower abdomen/hip and her calf.
Her ears and nose are pierced.
Clothing and accessories:
Delicia was last seen wearing a black and white tank top and black pants. She was wearing a multicolored baseball cap.
