Case Information
20 year old Carlos Reyes was last seen by his family in Danbury, Connecticut on March 28, 2022. His vehicle, a 2008 gray four door Infiniti sedan, was found engulfed in flames the following day in Brewster, New York.
Disappearance
At approximately 11:00 pm on March 28, 2022, Carlos Reyes was last seen by his family in Danbury, Connecticut. He was working as a DoorDash deliver driver, and was known to frequent Danbury, Waterbury, and Naugatuck areas.
Just before midnight on March 29, 2022, Carlos’ vehicle was found engulfed in flames on Old Milltown Road in Brewster, New York, about 11 miles from Danbury.
On March 31, 2022, his family reported him missing to the Danbury Police Department. They say it’s highly unusual of him to go without contacting family or friends for any length of time.
Investigation
Authorities believe Carlos met up with another person in the Danbury area on the day he disappeared, and that it might have been related to drugs.
Multiple searches of the area where Carlos’ car was found were conducted, but no further clues as to his whereabouts were found.
On April 7, 2022, police conducted a search warrant on a residence on Ball Pond Road near Pondcrest Road in Danbury, looking for evidence related to the case.
During the execution of that warrant, investigators were seen searching a nearby pond and storm drains. Police did recover some video surveillance footage during their search.
On April 14, 2022, police arrested Christopher Lemke, a 33 year old Danbury man, who held a woman at gunpoint and stole a car in Newtown before crashing and being apprehended in Southbury.
The day after his arrest police said they believed Lemke may have information that could help locate Reyes, and that he was directly related to the search warrant that had been conducted on Ball Pond Road a week prior.
No further details have been disclosed as to what information Lemke is believed to have, or whether or not he provided any information regarding the case.
In addition to the Danbury Police Department, the Federal Bureau of Investigation has gotten involved with the Reyes investigation.
In May 2022, the FBI assisted in a search for Reyes 60 miles away in Sheffield, Massachusetts, including the Housatonic River and the farmland next to a rest area off Route 7.
According to law enforcement sources, they were looking for the body of a person who either lived or died in Danbury, though no remains were found during the two day search.
Appearance
Carlos has brown hair, brown eyes, stands 5’10 tall, and weighs 170 pounds. His ears are pierced, and he usually wears three gold chain necklaces, each with a gold pendant.

Carlos was last seen wearing a black sweater, black sweatpants, and red Uggs slippers.
