Background
Cajairah Jae Fraise was born on January 14, 2001. She grew up in southern California and is the youngest of three siblings.
Fraise attended Beaumont High School where she was a member of the track and field team.
Fraise was living with her parents in Moreno Valley, California at the time of her disappearance. She was eight months pregnant with a boy and was due on March 29, 2023.
Disappearance
On February 23, 2023, Cajairah and her mother went to the gym to enjoy a spa day together. The two later ran some errands, getting things for the baby before being picked up by Fraise’s father so they could go visit her maternal grandmother.
On the way to the grandmother’s house, the family stopped at the Jack in the Box restaurant on 89 Beaumont Avenue in Beaumont to order food because Cajairah was hungry.
Around 10:39 pm, Cajairah was last seen by her parents when she got out of the car as they proceeded to order food at the drive-through.
When her parents were done ordering and pulled back forward to join their daughter, Cajairah was nowhere to be seen. Cajairah Fraise hasn’t been seen or heard from since.
On February 24, 2023, her parents filed a missing person’s report with the Beaumont Police Department when they could not find her.
Investigation
According to police, Cajairah was upset when she got out of the car and walked away, though it’s unclear what was troubling her. Her mother believes her daughter may have been suffering from a medical emergency.
Surveillance cameras from a nearby charter school captured Cajairah walking south alone, away from the area of the Jack in the Box restaurant, behind some businesses of the shopping center.
Multiple ground searches were done along Highway 79 between Beaumont and Hemet, but no further clues as to Cajairah’s whereabouts were found.
Foul play is not suspected in Cajairah Fraise’s disappearance, but her case was changed from a voluntary missing person to a critical missing person given her due date and length of absence.
