Investigation
Margaret’s family believe she was being scammed, citing unusual transactions on her bank account.
Some of the money appears to have been loaded onto a mobile payment app in $200 increments. Her family also found a check at Margaret’s home written to a man for $12,000.
The man whose name was on the check has a history of petty larceny and fraud.
Her family isn’t sure if she left home to meet someone connected to that scam, or if something else happened.
