A body found near Ellsworth, Iowa over the weekend has been identified as 31 year old Marcus Anthony Taylor.
Taylor disappeared while traveling from Fort Worth, Texas to Wisconsin to visit his dying grandmother.
He was traveling in his blue Hyundai Santa Fe with South Dakota license plate 2JS853, which was last picked up by a license reader on April 8, 2025 in northern Missouri traveling north on I-35.
On the evening of April 8, 2025, Taylor’s vehicle was involved in a single car accident near the Ellsworth, Iowa exit on Interstate 35 (between mile markers 133 and 128).
An extensive search in the area was performed with the help of K9s and a drone, but authorities were unable to locate the driver.
On April 25, 2025, STAR 1 Search and Rescue found a deceased male in a closed structure, about a mile away from where Taylor’s vehicle had been found.
The body was taken to the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation laboratory for an autopsy where he was positively identified as Marcus Anthony Taylor.
Taylor’s family has been notified. The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office say no foul play is suspected.
