Investigation
Authorities searched the area where Heather’s car was found, but were unable to locate any further clues as to her whereabouts.
Police have said it is likely that Heather “willingly abandoned her vehicle,” and “left her family and the area willingly with the assistance of an unknown acquaintance and is not known to be in any danger.” They believe she may have been in contact with someone outside of North Dakota to help her leave the area, and that she took steps to avoid detection.
Heather has ties to Utah, Nevada, Colorado, and North Carolina.
Her children are currently being taken care of by their biological father.
