Disappearance
A Salt Lake City man with autism who was recently discovered safe after going missing has gone missing once again.
On November 17, 2025, August Beckwith went missing in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was found safe in Taylorsville on December 10, 2025, and taken to the hospital for treatment.
On December 15, 2025, he ran away from the hospital after being discharged. He was last seen near State Street and 2nd Avenue. August has no shoes, no money, no phone, and no credit card. He is non-verbal and considered a vulnerable adult.
The last time he went missing he took public transit, and “could be anywhere in the valley” according to his mother.
“This is not carelessness or failure,” she posted. “For individuals with autism and trauma, transitions can be the most dangerous moments — even when there are signs of hope and improvement.”
August was last seen wearing a light blue hoodie.
August Found Safe
On December 21, 2025, August was found safe again. No further details have been released.
