81 year old Angella Kislo was last seen in Edwardsville, Pennsylvania on April 16, 1996. She was last seen leaving her home at Gateway Manor around 5:00 pm.
Disappearance
At approximately 5:00 pm on April 16, 1996, Angella Kislo was last seen leaving her home at Gateway Manor in Edwardsville, Pennsylvania.
She left carrying a small change purse and her apartment key, but never returned home.
NamUs has her age as being 76 when she went missing, all other articles state she was 81 years old.
Investigation
Angella’s purse was found inside her apartment, as well as $200 in cash and her identification.
Her family said she was depressed, but that it’s uncharacteristic of her to leave without warning, and that there were no indications that she was ill or having trouble remembering things.
“She was very concerned about not being able to do the things she was used
to doing,” her daughter Christine Balonis told Times Leader.
On April 18, 1996, Angella’s scent was traced by search dogs to the Black Diamond railroad bridge and another location fifty feet downstream, which resulted in the Susquehanna River being searched, but no clues as to her whereabouts were found.
Kirby Park and the dike that runs the length of the park were also searched since Angella was an active walker and didn’t drive.
Kislo’s daughter said her mother usually walked to St. Hedwig’s Church on Zerby Avenue in Kingston, about a mile away from where her scent was picked up.
A man called the police stating he saw someone matching Angella’s description in the area of Kidder Street and Wilkes-Barre Boulevard on the day she went missing. He said the woman appeared confused and did not respond when he offered assistance. This sighting has never been confirmed.
Appearance
Angella has gray hair, hazel eyes, stands 5’5 tall, and weighs 140 pounds.
Clothing & Accessories:
Angella was last seen wearing a navy blue pea coat, navy or black pants, and black laced shoes.
