Case Information
23 year old Andrew Lufkins was last seen in Sisseton, South Dakota on April 7, 2010. He disappeared after getting in a fight with other men at the American Legion bar.
Disappearance
Sometime between 9:00pm-12:00 am on April 7, 2010, Andrew Lufkins was last seen leaving the American Legion Post 50 bar in Sisseton, South Dakota, located on 9 8th Avenue East.
Andrew reportedly got into a fight with as many as three other man and sustained serious injuries. He hasn’t been seen or heard from since.
At the time of his disappearance Andrew was working on getting his GED. His family knew something was wrong when he failed to show up for class the following day.
Investigation
Foul play is suspected in Andrew’s disappearance. Andrew’s family says he was beaten badly and taken out of the bar by other men on the night he disappeared.
His loved ones say it’s uncharacteristic of him to be out of contact with family. “He always, always called me, no matter what. Three, four times a day, I don’t care, he always called me no matter what. So I knew something was wrong when he didn’t call me, you know,” Sheila Lufkins, AJ’s mother told KELO.
The case was eventually turned over to the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI), which conducted one search over the span of 10 years, according to his mother.
The South Dakota DCI says Andrew’s case is still an active investigation, and that all leads are being pursued.
Appearance
Andrew has black hair, brown eyes, stands 6’1 tall, and weighs 160 pounds.
He has letters tattooed on his left hand and is a member of the Sisseton-Wahpeton Sioux Tribe.
Clothing & Accessories:
Andrew was last seen wearing a dark colored sweatshirt with South Pole lettering on the front, a dark color jersey with light blue accents, khaki pants, and blue and white K-Swiss tennis shoes.
