Case Information

44 year old Amy McHale was last seen in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on June 13, 2016. She was last seen along Broad and Olney Avenues around 10:00 pm.

Disappearance

On June 13, 2016, Amy McHale was last seen by family when she left her mother’s house in south Philadelphia. Around 10:00 pm, she was last seen along Broad and Olney Avenues, wearing shorts and a tank top.

In the early morning hours of June 14, 2016, Amy called her daughter and left a voicemail, saying she was going to be staying at her ex-husbands house, which is something she would do from time to time.

When her daughter tried to call Amy back it went straight to voicemail. She hasn’t been heard from since.

Amy’s ex-husband, R.C. Horsch, says she had been at his home on the night of June 13th, but that she was gone when he woke up the next morning.

Investigation

In late June 2026, Amy’s ex-husband’s house in the 400 block of West Chew Avenue was searched by authorities. No remains were found during the search, though the investigation remains ongoing.

44 year-old Eugene Horsch was taken into custody on drug and firearms charges after chemicals, ammunition, and drugs were found inside the home. Amy was previously married to Horsch’s father, R.C. Horsch.

Amy’s ex-husband, R.C. Horsch, died in May 2025 of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease at age 82.

On July 21, 2026, authorities began excavating the yard of the West Chew Avenue residence. At this time it’s unknown what evidence they’re looking for.

Following the search, police opened a death investigation after finding hundreds of thousands of videos and images in the house, specifically depicting two women they believe are deceased.

The two women identified in the images are 27 year old Maribel Fresses who disappeared in 2018, and 22 year old Gabrielle Amarando who disappeared in 2012. Neither woman’s body has been found.

Authorities are continuing to analyze the evidence recovered from the home, including 20 containers of unknown substances and five urns containing what they believed are cremated remains.
