Disappearance

At approximately 1:40 pm on August 8, 2026, Alisa “Lisa” Goods was last seen near the 4900 block of South Maryland Parkway in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Lisa was staying with a friend, and left his apartment to head out to the CVS store along Paradise Road and Harmon Avenue. She was going to pick up her prescription medication and other supplies.

Lisa never returned to the apartment, and hasn’t been seen since. She was officially reported missing on August 10, 2026.

Investigation

The friend Lisa was staying with, Roger John, is someone she’s known for nine years. He’d often let her stay at his place whenever she visited Vegas. This was her second trip this year.

Both John and Lisa’s family were trying to contact her after she went missing, but her cell phone had been disconnected. Then on August 12, 2026, her family began getting text messages from her phone.

The person texting from Lisa’s phone said they were having issues with their credit cards at a gas station and were requesting Bitcoin. Her family tried quizzing the person texting to determine whether it was really Lisa or not and trying to get them to call, but the person kept putting it off.

When Alisa’s niece asked her aunt to call her, the person texting back said they were at a gas station and couldn’t talk. “I just started crying because I knew it wasn’t her,” she told NBC Nightly News. She noted that her aunt doesn’t drive.

On August 20, 2026, Alisa’s body was found near Terminal 1 at Harry Reid International Airport. Surveillance video from the airport shows a woman believed to be Woods at the airport on August 8, the same day she disappeared.
