Abby Lynn Patterson was born on February 15, 1997 to mother Samantha Lovette.
At the time of her disappearance, Patterson was visiting her mother in Lumberton, North Carolina. She previously lived in Jacksonville, Florida, and had recently returned home after having spent time in a drug rehabilitation program for heroin addiction.
She had only been back in Lumberton for a few days when she disappeared.
Disappearance
On September 5, 2017, Abby Lynn Patterson was last seen by her grandmother at her home on East 9th Street in Lumberton, North Carolina.
Around 11:30 am, Patterson sent a text message to her mother saying that she was gonna spend time with some old high school friends and that she would be back in an hour.
Patterson was last seen by neighbors walking down the street towards Inglewood Avenue and getting into a brown Buick sedan on Park Avenue. Abby never returned home and hasn’t been heard from since.
At 6:00 pm her mother filed a missing person’s report with the Lumberton Police Department when Abby failed to return home. All calls to her cell phone went straight to voicemail.
Investigation
The driver of the brown Buick, who’s an acquaintance of Abby’s, told police that Patterson was dropped off at an undisclosed location. Authorities have declined to state where she was dropped off, nor have they publicly identified the driver.
In 2017, three women were found dead within a four-block radius in Lumberton, North Carolina, just a few months prior to Abby Lynn Patterson’s disappearance, but authorities do not believe the cases are connected.
On April 17, 2017, Christina Bennett was found dead inside a house on Peachtree Street. The next day, Rhonda Jones was found dead outside a house on East 5th Street. Megan Oxendine was found dead in the yard of an abandoned house on East 8th Street on June 3th.
The three women had a history of drug abuse, and the causes and manners of their deaths remain undetermined. They were found naked and in various stages of decay.

Foul play is suspected in Abby Lynn Patterson’s disappearance. The circumstances of her disappearance remain unclear and her case is currently classified as missing. Her case remains unsolved.

White female born on February 15, 1997. Abby has brown hair, brown eyes, stands 5’7 tall, and weighs 140 pounds.

Abby has a tattoo of three black birds on her shoulder and a birthmark on the back of her left thigh.

Abby was last seen wearing a white shirt and brown shorts.
